Services

The modern home can often be restricted by lack of space, you may want to expand to accommodate a new member of the family, provide essential space for a home office, gym or even a games room. External extensions can come at the expense of your outside space, while a cellar conversion could provide you with that extra freedom you were looking for in a new home.

We provide a comprehensive service from the initial survey right through to design, dealing with planning permission, structural engineering and building regulations and finally, completion. Using only the highest quality materials, we oversee the entire process through to completion, leaving you to enjoy decorating your newly transformed space with your unique interior style.

Cellar Conversions

We could all do with more space or, better still, an entirely new room. It’s no wonder that basement conversions are extremely popular. Without spending a fortune, you can convert an unused room into a desirable living space. Many houses have cellars that have been neglected, chances are they are dark, dank spaces hardly suitable for storage, let alone spending any downtime in. There are many good reasons to convert your basement, the main one being that they provide you with more space that is closer to other living areas of your home.

Tanking and Waterproofing

Basement waterproofing is required when a part of a property is built at ground level or below. It is likely that there will be a build up of water in the ground surrounding the basement. Without basement waterproofing, this water ingress can then lead to mould, structural problems and other damp-related issues. Basement waterproofing can be achieved in two ways, either by blocking the passage of water into the building with external waterproofing or tanking waterproofing. Tanking materials are used for basement tanking when there is a requirement to block water accessing into the building.

Design & Planning

When considering to convert your basement or cellar you will need to ensure that all planning regulations are in place, however if there is already an existing basement or cellar at your property, it is unlikely that you will need permission to convert it into living space. If the conversion will alter the external appearance of the residence then planning permission would need to be sought. At RM Lee we work closely with you from design to completion and can assist with all planning applications and liaise with local authorities on your behalf to help alleviate the stress of renovating.
